About Dunedin RDA

We are one of 50 voluntary (not-for-profit) Riding for Disabled groups around New Zealand, and we are affiliated with the New Zealand Riding for Disabled Association. Our mission is to provide confidence, independence and well-being for people with disabilities through therapeutic horse riding and horse care. The Dunedin Group RDA (DRDA) was established in 1973. The location of Dunedin RDA has changed over the years but we now have our own land in Fairfield, Dunedin.

Dunedin RDA does not receive government funding and relies on grants, corporate sponsorship and generous donations from the community to keep the the programme operating. DRDA also runs a beginner and integrated riding school open to all abilities, to help off-set the costs associated with running the RDA programme and to supplement the work of the DRDA horses and ponies.
